FOX-EYE TREND

Hiyaaaaa. I’m back again. So normally I don’t talk much about society and everything. Sairah normally does that aspect, but I think this is a topic that I strongly believe that needs to be talked about because no one is talking about it.

The ignorant will say “oh it’s not racist, it’s just a pose” right? But do you know what it feels like to be bullied because you look different? Because you were born differently, and have smaller eyes? The amount of asians that get bullied throughout school because kids and adults think it’s fine to pull back their eyes to mock them. So before you ask why you should stop, actually respect the person and just don’t do it. It’s not that bloody hard!!

Asians were never applauded for their genetics of having slanted “cat eyes”! But instead we were bullied for it!! So now that white people are doing the poses, and it blew up into a TikTok trend DOES NOT GIVE YOU THE RIGHT TO BE IGNORANT AND POSE, THEN DELETING THE COMMENTS THAT TELLS YOU IT’S WRONG!! If these people were anything close to decent humans, they would listen. Just because the people who do it are white and privileged doesn’t mean they can do what they please disregarding how it hurts other people!

The makeup for the trend is completely fine, don’t get me wrong, but the pose where you pull back your eyes to make them look slanted and “exotic” is completely disrespectful. There are people who were severely bullied and this could trigger them. I just can’t comprehend how people can be so ignorant and just dismiss it like it’s something that can easily be brushed off. It is not.

This has been on my chest for way too long I had to rant. I needed to let it all out, for my mental state too!
