Heyllooooo!!! I’m backkkkkkkk hehehe. I’m so happy to be back, the past few months has been hectic. This is just a fun little post before Sairah welcomes you all back properly next Saturday π
Aside from studying and exams, I’ve learnt a few makeup tips through rushing out the house every morning and doing my makeup on the train. I’ve been really inspired with Korean and Chinese makeup and I’ll share some tips hehehe π
Here is a collection of the Duoyin makeup style:
The makeup itself is very minimalistic and it’s flattering on a lot of skin tones. Of course, tailor it to what suits you and your preferences. I absolutely love the red lip colours, but I wear red lipstick religiously. I normally go for a pink base layer and then mix pink and gold shimmery shadows on top and mascara and done!
It’s super easy, especially when I’m in a rush. When I spend time on my makeup, I use makeup brushes to apply and carefully blending a deeper colour into my crease and add eyeliner, but on a daily basis, I tend to just use my fingers and slap on the colour, and somehow, it still makes me seem a lot more put together then I actually am hehe.
Here are some examples of Korean makeup. Once again, it’s very minimalistic and cute.
So now onto the products, I will include the links to them. I mainly shop from YesStyle, but you can also find similar products in your local drugstore.
The Korean brands that I love is Innisfree and Etude House. Innisfree is on the more expensive side, but their products are so much better than most luxury skincare brands. Etude House is best known for teenage skin and it’s more affordable than Innisfree. If there are any other brands you know of that are great, please comment them down below. I’m very intrigued and would love to try them out.
So now onto the products I use for my makeup routine:
- Missha Cushion Foundation: https://www.yesstyle.com/en/missha-magic-cushion-cover-lasting-2-colors/info.html/pid.1048998395 It has buildable coverage and because I have combination skin, it works extremely well and won’t hug onto the drier areas of the skin. It gives such a dewy finish and makes your face glow. The puff is soooooooooooo soft and I think it’s my most favourite thing ever!!
- Etude House BlingBling Eye Stick: https://www.yesstyle.com/en/etude-bling-bling-eye-stick-1pc-12-colors/info.html/pid.1038750931 I use it directly under my eyes and in the middle of my eyelid for that 3D glitter effect. It works so well because the it’s quite pigmented and subtle at the same time. It makes your eyes bigger and makes you look more awake
- Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder: https://www.yesstyle.com/en/innisfree-no-sebum-mineral-powder/info.html/pid.1038745536 It makes your foundation look like skin and because I have combination skin, it controls the oil very well and makes your foundation stay on all day. The only bad thing about the cushion foundation above is that it transfers, but if you use it together with this powder, it’s magical and stays on all day. It also comes with a puff that’s so fluffy I diedddd when I touched it.
- Lottie London Palette Mix – The Rose Golds: https://www.lookfantastic.com/lottie-london-palette-mix-the-rose-golds-7.2g/12031675.html?autocomplete=productsuggestion It has all the colours I need and it’s small and compact, but most importantly, it’s so affordable!!! It does the job so well and works wonders.
- Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara: https://www.boots.com/lancome-monsieur-big-mascara-10248818 So like, everyone talks about Lancome’s Hypnose mascara so much and I’ve used Hypnose since I started using mascara and it was good. But this Monsieur one is on another level. I think it’s better than the Hypnose one. It makes your lashes so voluminous and doesn’t weigh down your lashes, especially because I have stick straight Asian lashes, it’s impossible to hold a curl, but this one is so good!! Also, I linked the one from Boots because it’s 50p cheaper than the Lancome website π
- Etude House Fixing Tint: https://www.yesstyle.com/en/etude-fixing-tint-11-colors/info.html/pid.1104982337 I’m sure you’ve all heard about this lip tint. It has been viral on TikTok for its ability to be mask-proof. I love the shades so much and it stays on all day and the lipstick is so thin, so you won’t feel it on your lips. It’s my go-to lipstick!! My other go-to lipstick is my YSL one, but it’s on the more pricey side so I won’t include it here. If you are interested, please feel free to comment and I’ll link it for you x
Now, onto some tips I have. I don’t have many tips hehe, but they do work out for me and reduces time in the morning:
- I use the Etude eye stick as eyeshadow instead of doing my actual eyeshadow palette. It’s very blendable and it looks so nice.
- I use my lipstick as blush. I think it works better than actual blush, it looks glowy and so much more natural
I guess that’s all I do to speed up this process π
I hope this has been helpful!! We will post regularly again, so sorry the break was longer than expected.
Good luck π
Lots of Love,
-Vivian
